0 – 6 months
Induction & Foundation
التعريف والأساسيات Induction & Foundation
Site induction, safety awareness, underground orientation, basic equipment familiarisation, manual handling, and hazard identification. Trainees work under direct supervision at all times. Theory modules cover mining fundamentals, geological awareness, and emergency procedures.

6 – 12 months
Assisted Operator

Hands-on equipment operation under supervision. Trainees begin operating LHDs, trucks, or specialist equipment with a qualified operator present. Simulation modules supplement on-the-job training. First competency assessments are conducted at this stage.

Independent Operator

Multi-Skilled Operator

Senior Operator & Supervisor

Supervisory competency training: shift management, crew coordination, production reporting, safety leadership, and incident investigation. Operators at this level can lead crews, conduct pre-start briefings, and manage underground production areas independently. Train-the-trainer certification available.

  • Pastoral support — particularly for young trainees and career-changers, structured mentoring and welfare support ensures retention through the challenging early months

Every training engagement follows a deliberate knowledge transfer methodology designed to make Jahkai's ongoing presence unnecessary. This is not a business limitation — it is the point.

  • Phase 1: Direct delivery — Jahkai trainers lead all instruction and assessment while local counterparts observe and co-facilitate
  • Phase 2: Co-delivery — local trainers deliver modules with Jahkai oversight, building confidence and institutional knowledge
  • Phase 3: Supervised independence — local training teams run the full program with Jahkai in an advisory and quality assurance role
  • Phase 4: Full handover — complete transfer of curriculum, assessment materials, quality systems, and institutional accreditation. Jahkai exits.

This four-phase model has been proven across dozens of Australian mining operations and is directly applicable to the Gulf's emerging mining sector. The timeline is typically 18 to 36 months depending on the scale of the training operation and the number of disciplines covered.
